- Baskets filled with toys or books.
- Carry or push laundry basket across the house.
- Push a cart filled with groceries at the shopping mall.
- Place chairs on desks at end of day (study room).
- Take chairs down at beginning of the day (study room).
- Drawing on floor (in prone position).
- Erasing, colouring on chalkboard.
- Spray bottles.
- Use curvy cut scissors to cut putty, play dough or thick paper.
- Clean the dining table with a cloth.
- Help wash car using sponge.
- Watering the flowers.
- Raking grass/leaves.
- Pushing a wheelbarrow.
- Jump on a trampoline.
- Crash onto pillows/bed/cushion.
- Bounching on a Gym ball.
- Playing see-saw.
- Animals walk (Crab walk, Bear walk, Army crawl, Frog jump, Whellbarrow walk).
- Heavy quils at night / Weighted blanket.
- Weighted Compression Vest/ Lap Pad.
- Carry backpacks with water bottles or weighted soft toys during outing.
- Roll child in the blanket like a hot dog.
- Firmly press on your child's arm, legs and back with pillows.
- Bear hug.
- Log rolling-roll back and forth to retrieve objects like clothes or shoes.
- Use beanbag chairs in the living room or study room. Allow children to use them during silent reading time.
- Lie the beanbag over or under them during indepedent work tasks.
- Swimming & Diving.
- Tie theraband around the front legs of a chair oe legs of desk that the child can kick with his legs.
- Prior to seat work, have child pinch, roll, pull Playdough/ Theraputty.
- Pinch or roll the stress ball (ballons filled with flour).
- Give child firm pressure on shoulders.
- Resistive sucking using items like pudding, thick smoothie.
- Sucking through thin curly straws/ long sports bottle straw.
- Sucking lollipop or popsicles.
- Chew on candies like fruit plus, sugus, jelly beans. Be cautious of too much sugar and make sure children brush their teeth.

Sensory Intergration Home Programs (Part 2)
Semalam Nor dah kongsikan Sensory Intergration Home Programs (Part 1).. Hari nie part 2 plak iaitu Oral. Oral itu berkaitan dengan mulut erti kata lain melalui deria rasa.
Ibu bapa juga boleh lah mencuba untuk bagi anak istimewa ini dengan rasa makanan. Supaya mereka boleh mengenal rasa masam, masin, manis, tawar dan pahit.
Antaranya boleh lah mencuba seperti di bawah :-
- Try eating tastes : sweet, salty, sour, spicy, bitter
- Try eating food with different texture like crunchy, creamy, chewy, lump, soft
- Blow bubbles or Bubble volcano
- Vibration toothbrush
- Cotton ball soccer
- Straw painting (Dip a drop of watercolour, paint though blowing)
- Suck thick liquid through straw (pudding, milkshake)
- Use curly straw/ longer/ thinner straw to suck drinks
- Boat races (Race the boat on water by blowing)
- Try eating/ biting small piece of ice cube or ice drinks before trying food that child dislike
- Play with food that the child doesn't like to eat (feed each other, explore by touching and playing to make child understand about food properties before eating it)
- Try to mix the food child dislikes in minimal or tiny portion to the food that the child loves (eg : if child doesn't like eating carrot, and loves chocolate; try to dip the small tiny piece of carrot into melted chocolate and ask child to taste it;)

Sensory Intergration Home Programs (Part 1)
- Playground swings. Ibu bapa boleh mencuba dengan pelbagai jenis buaian & pergerakan. (cth : bergerak ke depan dan belakang, sisi ke sisi dan gerakan pusaran).
- Manual vestibular swing. Ibu bapa pegang tangan & kaki anak kemudian dengan perlahan buai ke kiri ke kanan.
- Swinging in a blanket. Boleh juga cuba dengan menggunakan selimut.
- Swaying in a hammock.
- Spin using a office chair. (Kerusi yang macam ofis, yang boleh berpusing-pusing)
- Run in circles, or ride a merry-go-round.
- Manual spin. Pegang lengan anak tu dan berpusing sampai kaki dia terangkat dari tanah. Slow2 dah lah.. jangan tinggi-tinggi pulak. Kang tercampak pulak anak tu.. huhu
- Manual airplane. Pegang satu tangan & kaki sebelah badan dan berpusing ditempat yang sama (jika anak itu mempunyai otot yang lemah tak perlu lah mencuba)
- Sliding and climbing on playground equipments.
- Pulling child on a blanket across the room.
- Roll body like a log across the room
- Roll/slidedown a grassy hill at the park.
- Summersaults. (pandai-pandailah korang Google sendiri ye.. Nor pon tak tahu apa benda ni.hehe)
- Rock in rocking chair.
- Slowly walks up and down a ramp.
- Musical chair game.
- Activities on a balance beam. Picks up toys from floor, then throw into basket.
- Pops bubbles all around, stomp using feet or catch using hands.
- Rhythmic bouncing or rolling on large therapy ball.
- Jumping on trampoline.
- Jumping rope.
- Jumping on pillows. Game : Hot lava-Have your kiddos scatter the pillows all around the floor. The floor becomes hot lava and they have to jump from pillow to pillow to stay safe! It's also fun to make it into a chase game by having someone become "The Lava Monster"!
- Create an obstacle course (go over/under, climb up/down, run backwards from one point to another, through chairs, cushions, pillow, etc.)
- Hide and seek game or tag (running man) game.
- Throwing ang catching a ball
- imitating head positions. Bend down and say hello.
- Bend down and pass a ball between legs.
- Walk on the curb or a balance beam.
- Walk across the bed without falling.
- Walk while balancing an item on your head.
- Riding a bicycle or scooter.
- Dancing, marching twirl the body.
- Shake and stretch body.
- Do jumping jacks.
Apakah simptom-simptom Autism
- Tidak menunjukkan eye contact.
- Tidak bertindak balas terhadap senyuman.
- Tantrum yang keterlaluan tanpa sebab sehingga mencederakan diri seperti menghantukkan kepala ke dinding.
- Tidak menunjukkan minat untuk berkawan dan bermain dengan kanak-kanak lain, malah selesa bermain sendiri.
- Sering menyebut sesuatu perkataan secara berulang-ulang dan kerap melentikkan badan seolah-olah mengelak apadbila dipeluk.
- Terlalu sensitif dan mempunyai minat yang pelik kepada sesuatu seperti cahaya, bunyi atau pergerakan.
- Mereka juga sering kali menunjukkan obsesi kepada sesuatu perkara seperti permainan tertentu sahaja.
- Gemar mengibarkan tangan dan memusingkan badan setempat. Malah kanak-kanak 18 bulan ke atas, mereka lebih suka menggunakan isyarat berbanding perkataan.

Autism
Nama dia Khalish Najmi bin Khairul Nizam. Umur dia sekarang 2tahun 9bulan.. Khalish nie dari luaran nampak macam kanak-kanak normal. Tapi bukan dalaman. Dia adalah anak syurga dan dia mengalami Autism. Dimana Autism ni adalah mereka dengan dunia mereka sendiri dan tidak mengendahkan hal sekeliling mereka.
Mula-mula dapat tahu yang dia seorang Autism, memang Nor tak boleh nak terima dan tak nak terima hakikat langsung. Sampaikan hari-hari Nor menangis time nak tido, time solat, dalam bilik tapi hubby Nor langsung tak tahu pasal tu.
Tapi lama kelamaan nya sedikit demi sedikit Nor dapat terima hakikat bila kami sudah mula buat terapi dan jumpa pakar kanak-kanak. Dari situ doktor mula bagi kata-kata semangat bagi mereka yang ada anak Autism nie.
Macam mana Nor dapat kesan Khalish Autism. Sejak dia berumur setahun 10 bulan lagi sebenarnya. Nor cuba bandingkan perilaku dia dengan kakak dia dari segi percakapan asalnya. Sebab kakak dia setahun setengah sudah pandai mengira dan ABC. Tapi bila si Khalish tak cakap sepatah pon even ibu babah pon, Nor dah rasa macam cemas semacam je.. Time tu plak kawan-kawan semua cakap "Alah lambat cakaplah tu"... dan berterusan orang cakap macam tu. Sampaikan Nor dah jadi fedup..
Bila dah sampai appointment die dengan doktor, terus Nor bagitahu masalah Khalish. Dari situ lah Nor dapat tahu. Dan sejak tu lah setiap 3 bulan sekali Nor kne refer kt hospital tuk Carakerja dia, Speech dan jumpa pakar dalam 6 bulan sekali.
Sebenarnya ciri-ciri Autism nie banyak.. Tapi ciri-ciri yang Khalish alami ni seperti tak ada eye contack, bila panggil nama tak menyahut atau pandang kita, selalu main sendirian, menjerit, suka melompat-lompat, dan banyak lagilah.. Tapi Nor perasan sejak dia ikut terapi ni, banyak perubahan yang ditunjuknya. Macam bila panggil abang atau Khalish dah boleh pandang walaupon sekali sekala je & dah boleh terima arahan. Tapi still lagi takde eye contack lagi.
Nak jaga anak syurga ni, memerlukan mental yang kuat. Nor tahu nie semua dugaan dari Allah dan Nor terima sebaik-baiknya anak syurga ini. Walaupon kadang-kadang ada juga naik angin bila melayan perangai dia nie. Tapi tak apa lah Nor terima aje lah dengan hati terbuka.
Oklah kawan-kawan semua.. Post akan datang Nor akan kongsikan pula cara-cara nak handle kanak-kanak Austism nie..
